How to use the salt crystal lamp?

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE USE !!!

Salt lamps are intended for indoor use only. Salt is hygroscopic, it absorbs water particles from the atmosphere. Therefore, the lamps should be used in dry areas. In case of higher levels of humidity, for example, during rain, the lamp should be turned on. Heat produced by the light bulb inside of the lamp will warm up the salt crystal and make the water particles evaporate from its surface.

WARNING: If you plan to store the lamp for extended periods of time in humid environment (basement, garage, or attic) put it in a plastic bag and seal tightly.

Usage Guidelines

You should follow these guidelines while using salt crystal lamps.

  • When placing a lamp on a surface that might be easily damaged (i.e. antique or office furniture, etc.) additional care should be taken to secure that surface. We recommend to use a cork matt or fabric to catch the excess condensation of moisture, if it were to occur during to a sudden rise in the environment humidity.

  • Do no place the lamp on the edges of furniture in the children play rooms

  • Make sure the cord is not accessible to children or animals in your house.

  • If you notice the lamp is "sweating", which means that the excess moisture is being deposited to the surface of salt crystal, turn the lamp on and let it dry out from the heat produced by the light bulb.

Cleaning your salt crystal lamp

All our salt crystal lamps are virtually maintenance free. There is no need to clean them, except periodical dusting or checking for moisture condensation. If you decide to dust it off make sure you use dry towel to gently wipe off the surface. When the moisture condensation occurs simply turn it on.

Changing the bulb

  1. Unplug from the power source

  2. Grab the salt crystal in one hand and the base in the other and gently twist it off or pull apart. Method of dismantling depends on the type of lamp.

  3. Replace the bulb with a new one, according to the included specifications. In the case of Orion Lights, where halogen bulbs are used, make sure you do not touch the bulb with your fingers!

  4. Put the salt crystal and the base together and voila, the lamp is ready to go!

DO NOT PLACE LAMP NEAR WATER SOURCE!!!

DO NOT TURN THE LAMP ON/OFF WITH WET HANDS!!!
